Good to know

Trade licences are issued by the relevant City Corporation, Municipality or Union Parishad. Trade licences of Dhaka North, Dhaka South and Chattogram City Corporations are also available through BIDA's OSS. Offices or factories in more than one area may need separate local licences.

  • Not every authority asks for every document in the same way; the list varies by City Corporation and type of business.
  • Fire licence applications are now made in the Fire Service online system. Under the Environment Conservation Rules, 2023, documents and approval steps differ by industry category.
  • Sectors such as food, medicines or healthcare need licences from their own regulators; we check which apply and let you know.

What you receive: trade licence or the relevant licence, copy of the filed application and a list of renewal dates.
